The Vienna Higher Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction in the Republic of Austria .

Jurisdiction

The Vienna Higher Regional Court is locally responsible for appeals against decisions of the regional courts in the federal states of Burgenland , Lower Austria and Vienna . In addition, it is a cartel court for the whole of Austria and an appeal instance against decisions of the Austrian Patent Office as well as against certain decisions and notices in penal matters (§ 16a StVG). The President of the Higher Regional Court is also the head of the judicial administration of all courts located in the Higher Regional Court district.
