Ingvald Johan Ulveseth (born August 25, 1924 in Fjell ; † March 14, 2008 ) was a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). From October 1973 to January 1976 he was his country's Minister of Industry. He was then to 1994 Fylkesmann of Sogn og Fjordane .

Life

In 1949 he graduated from the Norwegian Technical University (NTH) with a degree in civil engineering . He then worked in a construction engineering consultancy in Bergen . From 1952 to 1961 he finally worked as a community engineer in his home municipality of Fjell before he returned to the private sector until 1964. From 1955 to 1967 he was a member of the local parliament of Fjell, and from 1958 to 1965 he was the mayor of the municipality. On January 1, 1964, Ulveseth took over a post as State Secretary in the Ministry of Local Affairs and Labor. He held the office there until August 1, 1965.

Ulveseth moved into the Storting for the first time in the 1965 parliamentary elections . There he represented the then province of Hordaland until 1973 . Between October 1969 and September 1973 he was the deputy chairman of the industry committee. He then became a member of the newly formed Bratteli II government on October 16, 1973 . He held the post of Minister of Industry there until the resignation of the government on January 15, 1976. He then served as Fylkesmann of Sogn og Fjordane until 1994. In principle, he had already received the office in 1971, but was initially unable to attend due to his mandate in Storting and his tenure as minister. Accordingly, Arne Ekeberg took over the office of Fylkesmann of the province from 1971 to 1976.
