The Association of Rules and Regulations Technology (IGR) eV is an association of companies and societies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry in Germany that operate process engineering systems and their service providers.

history

The member companies have been working together as a civil law company (GbR) since 1999. The IGR eV was founded on June 20, 2007 in Frankfurt, Industriepark Höchst . The founding members were 15 operating companies and service providers. Most of these companies emerged from the former Hoechst AG. 32 companies are now members of the IGR.

aims

Provision of the basis for supporting operator responsibility (technical compliance) in the planning, approval, construction, operation and maintenance of procedural, process and energy-related systems, including through:

  • Representing member companies in the field of regulatory monitoring, regulatory tracking and the safeguarding of user interests through active participation in regulatory bodies and organizations
  • as well as the exchange of information and experience with regard to the life cycle of process engineering systems.

Knowledge management

The knowledge management of the association is based on the networking of the know-how of the technical experts from the respective member companies. To this end, these member companies send technical experts to technical committees, project and working groups of the four IGR competence centers as well as to external committees and working groups that deal with the regulation.

  • Regular coordination with partner companies, rule setters and monitoring organizations for the interpretation and practical implementation of laws, ordinances and technical rules
  • Participation and representation of interests in selected committees at national, European and international level
  • Ensuring quality standards as well as the validation of materials and selected test methods
  • Creation of order and specification texts for EMR devices, apparatus and line components
  • Regular technical discussions, seminars, training courses, workshops and the IGR exchange of experiences that takes place every 2 years

Around 400 experts from the member companies of the IGR work in consortium committees that set rules, standards organizations, associations and associations. These are u. a. DIN , CEN , CENELEC , GMA , ISO , IEC , VDI , VCI , VDMA , VdTÜV , VDE , DKE , NAMUR , ABS , BDI / BDA , Ex Network eV

Results

The results of the technical work are z. B. made available to the IGR member companies in the form of technical guidelines (works standards of the IGR), test reports, warning notices, recommendations and experience reports.

The IGR member companies are informed about the current status of national, European and international regulations every 2 months with the association's announcement Standards Aktuell .

With four issues per year of the association's internal information publication IGR Aktuell , member companies are informed about projects and work results of the IGR.
