The Association internationale du film d'animation , Asifa for short , is an international association of animation film makers. It was founded in Annecy in 1960 and is divided into over forty regional groups. The current president is Sayoko Kinoshita .

activities

Asifa's activities include running a film archive, holding events and workshops, and issuing publications. Since 1972, the Asifa group in Hollywood has been presenting the Annie Award for special achievements in the field of animation film. Since 2002, Asifa has held International Animation Day on October 28th every year .

The association also awards accreditations to film festivals that meet certain requirements. In German-speaking countries, Fantoche , DOK Leipzig , the Dresden Film Festival , the Stuttgart Trickfilmfestival and the Hamburg International Short Film Festival are accredited by Asifa.

Germany, Austria and Switzerland

ASIFA has been represented in Germany by AG Animationsfilm since 2016.

Asifa Austria, based in Vienna , has existed since 1985. Well-known members are Tone Fink , Nicolas Mahler , Mara Mattuschka , Bady Minck , Thomas Renoldner and Stefan Stratil . Since 2007, Asifa Austria has had the ASIFAKEIL in Vienna's MuseumsQuartier . For the first time in 2010 she organized the international short film competition Animation Avantgarde together with Vienna Shorts .

The Swiss animation group (STFG / GSFA), the regional group of Asifa in Switzerland , was founded in 1968. It is based in Zurich . One of its best-known members is Georges Schwizgebel .
