The International Bankers Forum (IBF) was founded on September 7, 1986 by Nader Maleki , the incumbent president of the association, and with the support of Alfred Herrhausen in Frankfurt am Main and represents Germany's largest privately organized professional association for the banking industry. He is represented alongside his Headquarters in Frankfurt am Main also in Berlin, Hamburg and Stuttgart.

The purpose of the registered association is to promote the international exchange of ideas in banking as well as economic and social areas - especially among members of the middle management of national and international banks as well as in activities to initiate, maintain and promote international meetings.

The International Bankers Forum is the publisher of the financial magazine of the same name, "International Bankers Forum", which is aimed at decision-makers in the banking and financial sector and regularly organizes conferences on topics that affect the financial center. Such events are usually organized on the premises of its institutional members.
