The International LT series is a truck series from the US manufacturer Navistar . It is one of the Class 8 heavy trucks, the highest rating for trucks in the United States. The LT series always bears the designation LT625 and is only offered as a tractor unit .

history

The LT series emerged from the Project Horizon concept vehicle. It was presented for the first time on September 30, 2016 and replaced the ProStar series. In November 2016, production of the LT series started at Navistar's Escobedo plant . Initially, the LT series was only offered with the Cummins X15 engine. The International A26 was also introduced in 2017.

The International LT series is offered ex works with the International A26 and Cummins X15 diesel engines . Both engines have an R6 layout.

The International A26 has a displacement of 758 cubic inches (12,421 cubic centimeters ). It also has a turbocharger and is available with outputs between 400 and 475 horsepower (298 to 354 kilowatts or 406 to 482 metric horsepower ). It achieves this maximum output at a speed of 1700 revolutions per minute. The weaker variants generate maximum torque of 1550 to 1750 foot-pounds (2102 to 2373 Newton meters) at 975 revolutions per minute. The more powerful variants generate the maximum torque of 1450 to 1750 foot-pounds (1966 to 2373 Newton meters) at 1000 revolutions per minute. It has a dry weight of 2299 pounds (1099 kilograms ) and is designed for a mileage of 1.2 million miles (approximately 1.931 million kilometers ).

The Cummins X15 Efficiency Series has a displacement of 912 cubic inches (14,945 cubic centimeters) and is also equipped with a turbocharger. In the Efficiency Series it is available with outputs between 400 and 500 English horsepower (298 to 373 kilowatts or 406 to 507 metric horsepower). It achieves this maximum output at a speed of 1500 revolutions per minute. The maximum torque of 1450 to 1850 foot-pounds (1966 to 2508 Newton meters) is generated by the motor at 1000 revolutions per minute. In the Performance Series, the Cummins X15 is available with outputs between 505 and 565 horsepower (377 to 421 kilowatts or 512 to 573 metric horsepower). It achieves this maximum output at a speed of 1600 revolutions per minute. The engine generates maximum torque of 1650 to 2050 foot-pounds (2237 to 2779 Newton meters) at 1150 revolutions per minute. Both variants of the Cummins X15 have a dry weight of 3,152 pounds (1,445 kilograms) and are rated for a mileage of one million miles (approximately 1.609 million kilometers).

The LT series is offered with an automatic transmission , four different automated manual transmissions and three different manual transmissions . The automatic transmission is the Allison TC-10 with ten gears. The automated manual transmissions are the Eaton Endurant (eleven or twelve gears), the Eaton Fuller UltraShift PLUS (13 or 18 gears), the Eaton Fuller UltraShift PLUS LSE (16 gears) and the Eaton Fuller Advantage (ten gears) . The manual transmissions are the Eaton Fuller Advantage (ten gears), the Eaton Fuller (ten gears) and the Fuller (nine, ten, 13, 15 or 18 gears).

Cab

The International LT series is available without a sleeping cabin (Day Cab) or with a sleeping cabin (Sleeper). The sleeping cabins are available with a length of 56 or 73 inches (1422 to 1854 mm) and in each length in two different heights.
