The International University in Geneva ( English International University in Geneva short) or IUG is a private university , founded in 1997, and the ICC, International Center Cointrin in Geneva , Switzerland , is resident. The educational institution is not recognized as a university in Switzerland.
The IUG is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
The founder and president of the IUG is Eric Willumsen , Chancellor Claude Martin and Academic Dean Winfried Boeing . About 270 students are enrolled at the IUG.
Foundation and purpose
The IUG was founded in 1997 with the aim of ensuring a multicultural and international education. IUG is registered as a non-profit foundation under Swiss law . The university's first chancellor was David Williamson (former head of DuPont ). The purpose of the IUG is to work towards "the highest quality-oriented education that promises students a career in business and related fields", this "in cooperation with the international business community."

Ranking
In 2008, IUG was recognized as one of the 1000 best business schools worldwide in the ranking conducted by the controversial French consulting and rating agency EDUNIVERSAL , and in June 2012 IUG was named the sixth best business school in Switzerland (out of seven listed).
