The Middlebury Institute of International Studies ( MIIS ), also known as the Monterey Institute of International Studies , is an American graduate school from Middlebury College , a private university in Middlebury, Vermont . Graduate School of Translation, Interpretation, and Language Education (GSTILE)

GSTILE trains translators, interpreters, localization experts and language teachers in various foreign languages. The institute offers four different programs in the field of translation and interpreting:

Design, Partnering, Management & Innovation Program (DPMI)

The DPMI is a certificate in the field of management of international development projects, project management and social change. The DPMI is offered every January in California and Rwanda and every May / June in Monterey, Washington, DC and Kenya. William Tell Coleman Library

The MIIS library opened in 1955 and was named after the American William Tell Coleman, whose family donated money. Since then the library has been a research center for students, faculty, staff and the village community. The first librarian to work at MIIS was Eva Schroeder, a survivor of World War II and a Polish Jew.
