International Commission on Military History
The International Commission for Military History ( French Commission Internationale d'Histoire Militaire , CIHM) is a scientific organization for comparative research into military history . It is under the auspices of UNESCO and was founded in 1938 during a meeting of the International Commission on Historical Sciences (CIHS). A total of 41 national commissions (also from Germany and others) belong to the CIHM today.
It will u. a. Seminars and international conferences held, the Acta conference volume published, the International Military History Journal (since 1939) and the International Military History Bibliography (since 1978) edited.
There are three committees: "Bibiliographical Committee", "Archive Committee" and "Committee for Teaching & Teaching".
