In 1911, the master confectioner Weber founded the renowned international specialist publisher JM Erich Weber in Dresden , which he moved to Radebeul in the early 1920s.

The works published by Weber dealt with practical instructions as well as training and further education in the confectionery trade . They were not only published in German in up to six editions, but were also translated and published in part into Danish, English, French, Italian, Swedish, Spanish and Czech for international distribution.

The most extensive work was Weber's pictorial instruction on top performance in modern confectionery from 1936, which was published in its third edition in 1939 and presented the theory and practice of the confectionery trade on more than 600 pages with well over a thousand illustrations.

Weber was imprisoned in a Soviet internment camp ( special camp ) for several years after the Second World War . Although the publishing house had to cease operations in 1948, several of the works that were still traded antiquarian were Weber's standard works of craft up to the present day. In 1980 his practical pastry art from 1916 was reprinted in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
