International evening sports festival Koblenz
The International Evening Sports Festival was an athletics event in Koblenz .
It was held annually in August from 1960 to 1992 in the Oberwerth stadium in front of mostly 20,000 spectators. Then the budget was no longer enough to withstand the competition at the big meetings. The entry fees of the world-class athletes had risen sharply and in 1993 Berlin , Oslo , Zurich and Brussels merged to form the Golden Four and thus attracted media and sponsor attention. Four world records, five European records and eleven DLV records were set in Koblenz .
