Adam Gschwend
Adam Gschwend , also Latinized as Adamus Gschwendius (born April 15, 1665 in Casekirchen , † April 28, 1722 in Naumburg (Saale) ), was a German deacon , author and rector of the Lyceum in Eisenberg . His pseudonym was Georgius Phaedrus .
Life
Adam Gschwend married Dorothea Maria Cramer (1668–1694), born there on November 25, 1690 in Wetzdorf , with whom he had the son Johann David (1691–1767) and the daughter Rosina Maria (* 1693). As a widower, he was his second marriage on November 26th in Eisenberg, born Anna Christine Freiesleben, with whom he had children Anna Rosina (* 1696), Christian Adam (* 1700), Johann Friedrich (* 1702) and Christina (* 1705 ) would have.
From December 3, 1690 Gschwend was vice rector, from November 19, 1692 to April 10, 1707 at the latest, rector of the Lyceum in Eisenberg. Gschwend then worked as a deacon in Naumburg and as a philological reviewer on the staff of the Jena librarian Burkhard Gotthelf Struve .

Under the pseudonym Georgius Phaedrus , Gschwend organized an edition of Petronius' Satyricon that was cleared of objectionable passages :
