from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Santa Monica Track Club is an athletics club based in the United States. It was founded in 1966 and has produced numerous successful athletes. From 1966 to 1970 Mihály Iglói was the trainer, so the focus was on medium and long distances. In 1972 the trainer and manager Joe Douglas transformed the club into a post-college athletics club, so that now mainly international athletes who needed a club membership for starts in the USA were among the members; they included Carl Lewis and Leroy Burrell .
