Ioana Maria Valentina "Zizi" Lambrino (born October 3, 1898 in Vaslui ; † March 27, 1953 in Neuilly ) was the first morganatic wife of the Romanian heir to the throne and later King Charles II.

She was the daughter of the Romanian officer Constantin Lambrino and his wife Euphrosine Alcaz.

The son of the Romanian King Ferdinand I met Ioana during the First World War in Iași , where the royal family fled from Bucharest because of the German occupation . Karl married her secretly on August 31, 1918 in Odessa Cathedral and was sentenced to 75 days of house arrest. The marriage was annulled by the Supreme Court on January 8, 1919.

Karl renounced the throne, but continued to meet with Ioana and on January 8, 1920 Ioana gave birth to their son Carol Mircea († January 27, 2006) in Bucharest.

“Zizi” had to leave the country and Karl then married Princess Elena of Greece . His son from this second marriage was King Michael I of Romania.

Charles II died in exile in Portugal in 1953. In 1996 a Romanian court annulled the first marriage.
