Irene Erfen

Irene Erfen , née Irene Hänsch (* 1954 in Cologne ) is a German specialist in German and a private lecturer in older German language and literature at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald .

Life

Erfen studied German , Catholic theology , Greek and philosophy from 1973 to 1979 at the University of Cologne and at the Free University of Berlin as a scholarship holder of the Cusanuswerk . There she was translated into 'De claris mulieribus' and ' Äsop ' in 1979 with the work of Heinrich Steinhöwel's translation comments . A PhD contribution to the history of translation .

From 1979 to 1990 she was a research assistant and university assistant at the Free University of Berlin, where in 1994 she worked on Mythologeme des Weiblichen. Observations from the Bestiary feminarum collected from novellas, letters and pictures of the late Middle Ages . Since 1990 she has been an academic senior councilor at the Institute for German Philology in Greifswald .

Irene Erfen is a specialist in the cultural marginal phases of the Middle Ages and in mediaeval reception. In 2002 she gave a complete introduction to her subject.
