Karlheinz Rüdisser
Karlheinz Rüdisser (born February 25, 1955 in Bregenz ) is a politician of the Austrian People's Party who was governor in the Vorarlberg state government from December 7, 2011 to November 6, 2019 .
education and profession
After completing compulsory school, Rüdisser attended the Bregenz Commercial Academy , where he graduated in 1974. He then studied commercial science at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . Since 1975 he has been a member of the Catholic student union K.Ö.HV Mercuria Vienna in the ÖCV . Rüdisser completed his studies in 1980 with a master's degree. In the same year he joined the Vorarlberg state administration and worked in the economic department of the state of Vorarlberg, which he headed from 1986 to 2008. From 1980 to 1985 Karlheinz Rüdisser taught business administration at the HLW Marienberg in Bregenz.
After leaving active state politics, Karlheinz Rüdisser was elected chairman of the supervisory board on November 21, 2019 by the general assembly of Vogewosi , the state's own non-profit housing developer.
Political career
Rüdisser was first from 1990 community representative and from 1992 on the community board of Lauterach. From 1995 to 2008 he was vice mayor of this municipality. On December 10, 2008, he succeeded Manfred Rein in the Vorarlberg regional government. In this role he was responsible for general economic affairs - in particular economic and transport policy, commercial law - in particular trade and water law, spatial planning and building law, housing subsidies, traffic law and road construction.
After governor Herbert Sausgruber announced his resignation in 2011, his previous deputy, governor Markus Wallner , was elected governor in a special session of the Vorarlberg state parliament on December 7, 2011. At the same meeting, Karlheinz Rüdisser was appointed Wallner's successor as governor , that is, as deputy governor. In the run-up to the state elections in Vorarlberg in 2019 , Karlheinz Rüdisser announced on February 4, 2019 that he would no longer stand for the election and that he would leave the state government by swearing in the successor government. His successor as state governor was Barbara Schöbi-Fink .
Private life
Rüdisser is married and has two sons and a daughter. He lives with his wife in Lauterach .
