Irene Georgii-Hildebrand

Irene Georgii-Hildebrand (born January 22, 1880 in Florence , † January 24, 1961 in Munich ; born Irene Hildebrand ) was a German sculptor .

Life and professional development

Irene Hildebrand was the daughter of the German sculptor Adolf von Hildebrand, who worked temporarily in Florence, and his wife Irene (née Schäuffelen). Together with her father, she came to Munich as a teenager .

With the support of her father, she developed her own sculptural talent. Between 1902 and 1912 she exhibited at the Munich Secession . Her work includes numerous busts and statues. The best known is the Patrona Bavariae at the Wittelsbacher Brunnen in Eichstätt , which was created in 1906 in collaboration with her brother-in-law, the Munich architect Carl Sattler .

Irene Hildebrand married the sculptor Theodor Georgii in 1907 .
