Irene Leps

Martha Irene Leps (born May 6, 1959 in Zerbst ) is a German author and illustrator . She lives and works in Zerbst.

Life

Martha Irene Leps was born the second of three children. After graduating from high school in 1978, she began studying art education and German at the Humboldt University in Berlin . She worked as an art and German teacher. She has been a freelance artist since 1996. She has four children who were born between 1981 and 1993.

Leps illustrated some children's books. In 1998 she published the children's book Hanna und der Traumfänger , which she also illustrated, followed in 2000 by Ida's little king , also with her own illustrations. In 2000 she received a scholarship at the Cranachhof Wittenberg . In Künstlerhaus Edenkoben Martha was 2008 Gastdruckerin and the following year again fellow at Cranachhof Wittenberg.

In 2006 she was involved in the project “Being a child in Saxony-Anhalt” at the Makarenko Magdeburg special needs school, where she worked with pupils on a children's book with her own illustrations. She acted as editor for the project describing the work " With seven things: Primary school writer - a project of the Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis in Sachsen-Anhalt eV and the primary school" An der Stadtmauer "in Zerbst" . Project-related student essays are collected in it.
