Irene Marhold (born July 25, 1932 in Frankfurt am Main ; † November 25, 2017 in Stuttgart - Sillenbuch ) was a German stage, film and television actress .

Live and act

After completing her artistic training, Marhold first began working on television and was cast in the first German TV series Die Familie Hesselbach in 1954 . A year later she made her stage debut at the Theater am Roßmarkt in her hometown of Frankfurt with Thornton Wilder's “Die Heiratsvermittlerin”. This was followed by engagements in front of the camera (especially for television plays, less often for cinema productions such as Queen Luise , where Irene Marhold played the Crown Princess Friederike) as well as on the stage, where the artist could be seen in the following decades. a. at venues in the German cities of Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Hanover and Hersfeld again.

In the 1960s and 1970s in particular, Irene Marhold was one of the most sought-after actresses in the country and took part in several radio play productions, including a number of fairy tale audio books. In the 1980s, the artist was hardly seen on the screen before she completely withdrew into private life. Irene Marhold was married to the screenwriter, film producer and former SWR television director (1961 to 1985) Reinhart Müller-Freienfels (1925–2010) and last lived in seclusion in Stuttgart-Sillenbuch.
