Iris Eisenberger

Iris Eisenberger (* 1972 in Graz ) is an Austrian law scholar and university professor . Eisenberger has been Professor of Public Law at the University of Graz since 2020 .

education

Iris Eisenberger studied law at the University of Graz and the Spanish University of Valladolid . In 1995 she obtained the degree Magistra in Law ( Mag. Iur. ). In 2002 she completed a Masters in Political Theory at the London School of Economics and Political Science through a Chevening grant from the UK Government . Finally, it was in 2004 at the University of Graz with a dissertation on the subject of film promotion measures in the tense relationship between Community law and national law to Doctor of Law ( Dr. iur. ) Graduated .

Professional background

During her studies, Iris Eisenberger worked from 1994 to 1995, shortly before Austria joined the EU , on a work contract basis for the European Commission in Vienna. She then became a legal advisor in the European Parliament in 1995 before returning to Graz University as a university assistant in 1996, where she worked at the Institute for Constitutional Law. In 2000/01 Eisenberger was employed in the constitutional service of the Federal Chancellery , in 2001 she moved to the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna as a university assistant , where she was employed at the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law.

At the University of Vienna Iris Eisenberger was finally in 2014 with a postdoctoral thesis on the topic of innovation in the legal habilitation and thus gained the right to teach constitutional law, administrative law and related areas of EU law. On January 1, 2016, she was appointed full professor at the Chair of Law at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, where she also took over the management of the Institute of Law. She researched and taught at BOKU for a little over four years. On March 1, 2020, she took over a professorship for public law at the Institute for Public Law and Political Science at the University of Graz, succeeding Stefan Storr .
