Iris Johansen

Iris Johansen (born April 7, 1938 ) is an American writer of crime novels , thrillers and romance novels .

Live and act

Iris Johansen first worked for an airline and traveled a lot. When her children left home for college, she started writing.

Her daughter, Tamara Brooking, helps her with her research. Her son, Roy Johansen, married to his wife Lisa, is a screenwriter and also a writer. He wrote the screenplay with Bill Condon for the film Murder 101 , which won the Edgar Allan Poe Award . Mother and son wrote three books together.

Iris Johansen writes detective and historical novels and is one of America's most successful romance novelists . Her books have been sold over 25 million times worldwide. Since 2006 she has been on the New York Times bestseller list with at least fifteen works . Among other things, she was awarded the Romantic Times Award for her wind dancer trilogy . So far she has published six audio books in German. Over twenty copies (mostly in English) are available for download.

She is a huge dog lover and has four Golden Retrievers and one crossbreed. She is married and lives near Atlanta , Georgia .
