The stems are 10 to 40, rarely up to 70 centimeters × 4 to 6 millimeters in size, hollow and two or three-leaved. The 2 or 3 Spathas are green, slightly reddish on the edge, 5.5 to 12 × 0.8 to 1.2 centimeters in size and rarely one, mostly two-flowered. The ovary is about 2 inches tall. The style branches are about 3.5 centimeters tall. The capsule is 4 to 5.5 × 1.5 to 1.8 centimeters in size, cylindrical, triangular, recognizable 6-veined, blunt and not beaked at the tip. The seeds are hemispherical, flat and brown.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 40.

The species blooms in June and July and fruit from August to October.
