Irmgard Sörensen-Popitz (born June 3, 1896 in Kiel , died November 2, 1993 in Kronberg im Taunus) was a German designer and artist .

Irmgard Sörensen-Popitz was born in Kiel and attended the crafts and applied arts school there before studying at the State Academy for Graphic Arts and Book Industry in Leipzig from 1917 . In addition to Hugo Steiner-Prag , her teachers also included Jan Tschichold , a protagonist of New Typography . In 1920 the designer won a poster competition for the Academy's Second Advertising Art Exhibition and attracted attention with her modern image concept.
