First documentary mention of Ewichheim
With document 3424 the first mention of the place "Ewichheim" took place, from which later the places Großauheim and Klein-Auheim emerged.
Since the 1200th anniversary in 2006, the so-called Irminratsmarkt has been organized annually in Großauheim by the local trade association, a historical street festival that reminds of the Middle Ages and the time of the Irminrat in this district of Hanau . Every two years a "noble woman Irminrat" is selected from the female population, who represents this place externally, also in the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden at the annual reception of the Prime Minister.
