Iryna Andrijiwna Vereschtschuk ( Ukrainian Ірина Андріївна Верещук ; born November 30, 1979 in Rava -Ruska , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian politician. Since September 2019 she has been the representative of the Ukrainian government in the Verkhovna Rada , the Ukrainian parliament.

Life

Iryna Vereschtschuk spent her childhood and youth in Rawa-Ruska, a small town in the northwest of the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast near the Polish border . She graduated from the Military Institute of the National Polytechnic University in Lviv in 2002 with a focus on international information and in 2006 from the Law Faculty of the Ivan Franko National University . After graduating from the military institute, she worked in officer positions in the armed forces for 5 years.

She is a candidate for natural sciences in public administration, associate professor at the Institute for Political Science, Public Administration and Administration of the Faculty of Political Science and Law of the National Pedagogical University MP Drahomanow and professor at the Department of General and Applied Psychology of the Institute for Ecology of Economy and of the law.

From 2007 she was a member of the Rawa-Ruska City Council and from June 2010 to October 2010 she was Deputy Chairman of the State Regional Administration for Humanitarian Affairs and Foreign Policy in Zhovkva . Between November 9, 2010 and February 17, 2015 she was mayor of Rawa-Ruska. She has been President of the International Center for Baltic Sea Research and Consensus Practices since 2016.

On August 29, 2019, she became a member of the Verkhovna Rada after she had nominated the Sluha narodu ( servant of the people ) party as the independent candidate for the 2019 parliamentary election in 29th place on the list . On September 4, 2019, she was appointed government representative in the Verkhovna Rada by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine .
