Isílio António de Fatima Coelho da Silva is an East Timorese diplomat.

Career

Coelho has worked for the East Timorese Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2001 . First he held positions in Dili , such as the head of the Protocol Department as well as the Embassy in Portugal and the Embassy to the Holy See , before he became Director of the Bilateral Relations Department. In October 2009 Coelho succeeded Constâncio Pinto as National Director for External Affairs. From 2011 to 2015 Coelho was the East Timorese ambassador to Japan . Previously, Domingos Sarmento Alves held this position . Coelho handed over the post to Filomeno Aleixo , who had been appointed in November in 2016 . From 2016 to 2017 Coelho worked as Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dili. He was replaced in this capacity by Antonito de Araújo and now held the post of Director General for Bilateral Relations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 2019 Coelho was sworn in as the new ambassador to the United States . He presented his accreditation to President Donald Trump on January 10, 2020.
