Isaac Chilemba (* 17th May , 1987 in Blantyre , Malawi , as Miguel Isaac Chilemba Zuze ) is a Malawian boxer in the cruiserweight division . His former trainer is Dan Birmingham , who was named "Trainer of the Year" by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) with the Eddie Futch Award in 2004 and 2005 and in 2010 to the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame has been recorded.

His current trainer is Buddy McGirt . It is managed by Damian Ramirez .

Professional career

Chilemba made his successful debut on October 19, 2005 in Secunda, South Africa, with a technical knockout victory in round 2 against Thamsanqa Tindleni.

In 2013 Chilemba completed two fights against Tony Bellew . Both took place in the UK . The first ended in a draw, the second Chilemba lost by unanimous decision. Both fights were about the silver title of the WBC .

In March 2015, the normal boom defeated the previously undefeated Russian Vasily Lepikhin and thus won the vacant North American championship belt . At the end of November of the same year he boxed against the unbeaten Eleider Álvarez for the second time for the WBC silver title and had to admit defeat by majority decision.
