Dan Birmingham
Dan Birmingham is a boxing coach . He lives in the US Saint Petersburg , Florida . Former IBF - WBA - WBO - and WBC world champion at light middleweight . Ronald Wright was trained exclusively by him, as was former IBF super middleweight world champion Jeff Lacy .
Since 2009 he has coached the current WBC world champion and WBA welterweight champion , Keith Thurman , who suffered his first and so far only defeat on April 4, 2017, Danny García (33-0-0).
In addition, Birmingham was the first coach of the IBF and two-time WBC light heavyweight champion , Chad Dawson .
Awards
In 2004 and 2005, Birmingham was named Trainer of the Year by the BWAA .
