Isaac Gubel

Isaac Gubel (* in the 20th century; † March 21, 1983 ) was an Argentine psychiatrist and alternative medicine .

Life

Gubel was from Rosario , Argentina. He worked for Milton H. Erickson in the United States and founded the Sociedad Argentina de Hipnoterapia ("Argentine Society for Hypnotherapy") with others in Buenos Aires in order to spread his hypnotherapy in his country . He was also in contact with Alfonso Caycedo and co-founded the Sociedad Argentina de Sofrología y Medicina Psicosomática (SASMEP) (“Argentine Society for Sofrology and Psychosomatics ”). In 1959 he founded the Revista Latino-Americana de Hipnosis Clínica ; he was corresponding editor of the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis and the British Journal of Medical Hypnotism . He has published numerous professional articles in English and Spanish in these magazines and others . He researched and gave lectures in Brazil , Mexico and Venezuela, among others . He is regarded both as "one of the greatest exponents of global hypnotherapy" ("uno dei massimi esponenti della ipnoterapia mondiale") and as a "failed psychiatrist" ("malogrado psiquiatra").

The alternative medicine Instituto Gubel de Investigación y Docencia en Hipnosis, Psicoterapias Breves y Medicina Psicosomática ("Gubel Institute for Hypnotic, Psychotherapic and Psychosomatic Research and Teaching") in Buenos Aires is named after Gubel.
