Isabel Wiseler-Santos Lima (born December 29, 1961 in Odivelas , Portugal ) is a Luxembourg politician ( CSV ). She has been a member of the European Parliament for Luxembourg since 2019 .

life and career

Lima was born on December 29, 1961 in Odivelas near Lisbon . She emigrated to Luxembourg with her parents when she was three years old. In 1984 she obtained a master's degree in modern literary studies from the University of Paris III - Sorbonne Nouvelle . The following year she joined the Christian Social People's Party (CSV). After graduating from college, she became a teacher at the Fieldgen private school and was a member of its board from 2013 to 2017.

Lima has been a councilor for Luxembourg City since 2005 . In 2017 she became alderman of the municipal council.

In the 2019 European elections , Lima was elected one of the six members of the European Parliament for Luxembourg, one of the two MEPs of her party. She is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and its Subcommittee on Human Rights, as well as the delegation to the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee .

She is married to the politician Claude Wiseler and has three children.
