The Isakson Nunatak is an approximately 1300 m high nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 2.5 km southeast of the Christoph-Nunatak in the group of the Lyon-Nunatakker .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs by the United States Navy between 1965 and 1968 and Landsat satellite images from 1973 to 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1988 after the atmospheric physicist Steven W. Isakson of Stanford University , who worked on the Siple station in the winter of 1975 .
