Lyons Nunatakker

The Lyon Nunatakker are a group of Nunatakkers west of the Grossman Nunatakker and 48 km northwest of the Behrendt Mountains in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . They include the Grossenbacher Nunatak , the Holtet Nunatak , the Christoph Nunatak and the Isakson Nunatak .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using their own surveys and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1961 and 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1966 after Owen R. Lyon (1928-2007), who was Chief Petty Officer of the medical Corps of the US Navy in 1965 headed Eights Station .
