Isengard is a Swedish power metal band.

history

The band was founded in November 1988 by the brothers Janne and Uffe Tillman. In 1991 Ronnie Andrêson joined them as guitarist.

In 1992 the singer Anders "Gurra" Gustavsson joined them and the first demo with four pieces was recorded. In the same year she left the singer Gustavsson again and Andrêson took over the role. In 1993 the three members of the band signed a contract with the Danish record company "Bums Records" and recorded the album "Feel no fear". Due to some problems with the record company, their album was only released in 1994. "Under the Dragons Wing" followed in 1995 as a promotion album, through which they became known outside of Sweden. On this album “Odin” took over the vocals, which until then had only taken over the background vocals. In 1996 "Enter the dragon empire" was published, which caused a stir especially in Europe, but also everywhere else in the world and made Isengard even better known. After this album "Odin" decided to resign as a singer because he was no longer interested in Power Metal.

For the following track on the Environmental Compilation CD, they borrowed singer Tommy Adolfsson. In 1998 they found a new singer in Linus Melchoirsen, who was allowed to record two songs with the band for a new metal compilation CD. This was followed by the album "Crownless Majesty", which, according to Isengard, was the strongest and heaviest album of their treadmill so far. After performing a few gigs, they were once again in crisis. Melchoirsen left the band for a solo project and Janne Tillmann became a father. After her best album so far, "Crownless Majesty", Isengard fell silent.

In mid-2003, Ronnie and Uffe began to consider Isengard's reopening. Janne was no longer interested in playing in the band, and he had become a father again. So they started looking for new members. A year later they found their people in Ted Lundin and Peo Lövholm.

Today Isengard consists of a total of 5 members.
