Ismael Miranda

Ismael Miranda (born February 20, 1950 in Aguada , Puerto Rico ), actually Ismael Miranda Carrero, also known as "El niño bonito de la Salsa" is a salsa singer and composer.

Career

Ismael Miranda had the desire to become a musician in his childhood. He grew up in Manhattan East Village in New York City . At the age of 11 he was a member of the youth groups "The 4J's and Little Junior" and "The Class Mates", where he played and sang congas . He convinced with his singing talent and was allowed to perform at an event by Jerry Lewis . In 1967 Miranda recorded his first song "Let's Ball" with Joey Pastrana, her song "Rumbon Melon" became a hit. Then Larry Harlow offered him a job as a singer in his band. Great success has been celebrated with the style of Latin Boogaloo. In 1969 Ismael Miranda switched to the Fania All-Stars and toured with them through Latin America , Europe and Asia . In 1973 he composed his own song “Así se compone un son” with the band “Revelacion” and the label Fania Record. During the heyday of salsa in the 1970s, other hits such as "Lupe, Lupe" and "Señor Sereno" followed. In 1988 Miranda founded his own record label IM Records and recorded some Boleros with Andy Montañez . A concert in 2002 received great recognition from the National Foundation of Popular Culture of Puerto Rico. In 2003 Miranda performed again at the Copacabana Nightclub in New York.
