Further development

The institutions of the countries associated with the Crown of Aragon continued to exist in unified Spain and were only dissolved after the end of the War of the Spanish Succession through the Decrees de Nova Planta issued by King Philip V and united with the Castilian institutions to form a centralized Spanish state. The Kingdom of Mallorca was therefore dissolved in 1715.
