The Istinghalsen (Norwegian for ice summit neck ) is an icy mountain saddle in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . In the Ahlmannryggen it lies between the Istind and the Grunehogna .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped the saddle using measurements and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) created between 1958 and 1959 .
