The steam locomotive series kkStB 52 was a freight train - Tender Locomotive series of kkStB , originally from the Istrian National Railways came.

The Istrian State Railways only procured these ten locomotives, which the kkStB later referred to as class  52 . They were supplied by the Floridsdorf locomotive factory and the Mödlinger Lokomotivfabrik in 1875. They received the names CANFANARO , DIGNANO , DIVACA , HERPELJE , PARENZO , PIGUENTE , PISINO , POLA , ROVIGNO and ROZZO . The long smoke chamber of the locomotives was striking.

The operation on the Istrian State Railway was run from the opening in 1876 to 1882 by the Southern Railway . The kkStB later moved the machines to the Linz area.

After the First World War , the remaining nine machines came to the BBÖ , which they decommissioned by 1934.
