It's lightning! -

It's lightning! is the third studio album by the New York indie band Yeah Yeah Yeahs . It was originally scheduled to be released on April 13th, 2009, but the date was brought forward to March 10th due to an internet leak on February 22nd, 2009.
It's lightning! was produced by Nick Launay and Dave Sitek. The band says about the album that it sounds different than the previous album but "still like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs".

The album was nominated on December 2, 2009 for a Grammy Award in the category Best Alternative Music Album .

Recordings

According to Nick Launay , one of the producers, the production and recording of the album was capitalized and came at a time when record labels were severely constrained in their production budgets. The few songs that the band brought to the first sessions were later changed significantly.

The recording sessions took place over several months in 2008. In between there were always short breaks "for inspiration".

All songs were written by Brian Chase , Karen Orzolek and Nick Zinner .
