It's Your Move is an 18-part US television series on NBC . It was first broadcast from September 26, 1984 to February 23, 1985 on NBC television.

action

The series is about Matthew Burton, who lives in an apartment with his 16-year-old sister and single mother. He keeps playing pranks on his sister and trying to get rid of his mother's new boyfriend. At the same time, he is always friendly towards adults, so that no one believes his sister when she explains what Matthew has hatched. However, when someone is in need, Matthew is there to help. So he secretly puts money in his mother's wallet when she has money worries.

background

Michael Moye and Ron Leavitt came up with the idea for the series. Jason Bateman became the lead actor in the series. What is special about the series is that the main character, Matthew Burton, is not necessarily a nice person, but someone who plays a lot of pranks and manipulates the people around him. For example, Matthew is not exactly enthusiastic about his mother's new boyfriend and tried to make him look bad with his pranks. For Matthew Burton's own fictional band The Dregs of Humanity with skeletons from school laboratories, the series is still known today. The television series received mostly good reviews, but was less popular with viewers. The producers put the low ratings down to the less friendly main character and made them a little friendlier in the last few episodes. That didn't help either and It's Your Move was discontinued after 18 episodes due to poor ratings. Ultimately, It's Your Move and its main character Michael Moye and Ron Leavitt inspired the hit series A Terribly Nice Family .
