The Itzespitze is an elevation on the L121 between Aukrug and Hennstedt . With a height of 83.4 m, it is the highest point in the Steinburg district and in the Aukrug nature park .
Origin of name
The previously nameless survey was given its name in 1998 during a Father's Day excursion by members of the German Alpine Club . The press and television reported humorously about the first ascent of the highest point in the Steinburg district, where a summit cross and a climbing aid were attached. In 2018 the name was included in the topographic map of the state survey office.
After this success, the group also looked for the highest point in the also flat Pinneberg district , found an unnamed crater rim on Helgoland and named it Pinneberg .
