The Junius was the fourth month of the old Roman calendar and forerunner of today's month in June .

It is named after the Roman goddess Juno , the wife of the father of gods Jupiter , goddess of marriage and protector of Rome , and corresponds to the Etruscan month of Aclus .

In 153 BC Chr. Was the beginning of the January 1 laid. The Junius thereby became the sixth month.
