Ivan Simonovič (born June 7, 1973 in Belgrade ) is a Slovenian handball coach and former handball player , who was mostly used on the left back area.
The 1.93 m tall and 90 kg heavy right-handed player initially played for the Slovenian club RK Prevent Slovenj Gradec . In 2001 he moved to Prule 67 Ljubljana , with whom he became champion and cup winner in 2002. In the EHF Champions League 2002/03 he reached the semi-finals. After two years he went to Paris Handball , for which he played two more seasons. In 2005 he returned to Slovenia to the RK Gold Klub Kozina . After a year he signed with the Bosnian club RK Bosna Sarajevo , with which he was Bosnian champion in 2007 and 2008 and cup winner in 2008. He then let his career end in Italy.
After the end of his active career, Simonovič was a youth coach at RK Velenje .
With the Slovenian national team , Ivan Simonovič took part in the 2001 and 2003 World Championships and was one of the top scorers of the tournament with 50 goals at his second World Cup. At the 2004 European Championships in his own country, he won the silver medal. He played 32 international matches in which he scored 156 goals.
