Iver Callø , German: Callö, (born October 26, 1888 in Erlev near Haderslev , † April 11, 1972 ) was a politician of the Danish minority in southern Schleswig.

Life and work

After school, Callø completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Hadersleben Bank and then worked in Neumünster , Berlin and Eckernförde . During the First World War he fought as a soldier in the German army. In 1920 he started his own business in Eckernförde. He later ran a cinema there. In 1945 he was a co-founder of the Danish school in Eckernförde. Until 1948 he was the local chairman of the Danish cultural association SSV . In 1969 he was awarded the Guldnål (gold pin) of the Sydslesvigsk Forening for his services to the Danish minority .

Political party

Callø was a founding member of SSW in 1948 .

MP

Callø was councilor in Eckernförde , where he chaired the SSW parliamentary group. On January 21, 1954 he moved for the remainder of the electoral term for his retired party friend Hermann Olson in the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein .
