Ivett Gonda (born April 28, 1986 in Jászberény , Hungary ) is a Taekwondoin that starts flying and bantamweight until 2013 for Canada and since then for Hungary.

Born in Hungary, Gonda came to Canada with her parents in early childhood. Today she trains under Lim Shin-wook at the TaeGeuk TaeKwonDo club in Port Moody .

Gonda contested her first international title fights in the adult division at the 2003 World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where she was able to achieve a good result by moving into the semi-finals in the class up to 47 kilograms. The following year 2004 was a successful one. Gonda became the first Pan American champion in Santo Domingo . She qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens . With two opening wins, she reached the semifinals in the class up to 49 kilograms, where she was eliminated against the later Olympic champion Chen Shih-hsin . After another defeat in the small final, she ultimately narrowly missed a medal and finished fifth. Gonda won her next medal with bronze at the 2006 Pan American Championship in Buenos Aires . She took part in her second Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , but retired after her opening fight and finished eleventh in the final ranking. Gonda won her second title in the class up to 53 kilograms at the 2010 Pan American Championships in Monterrey . She finally won another title in the class up to 49 kilograms at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara .

Since 2013 she has started for her native Hungary
