Ivan Yaremchuk ( Ukrainian Іван Іванович Яремчук , Russian Иван Иванович Яремчук ; born March 19, 1962 in Velykyj Bychkiw , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Soviet-Ukrainian football player .

Ivan Yaremchuk began his career as a football player in 1979 with the Dnipro Cherkassy club in the second highest Soviet league. After playing for the second-rate club SKA Kiev from 1983 to 1984, he moved to Dynamo Kiev in 1985 .

At Dynamo Kiev, the midfielder had the most successful period of his career, he was three times Soviet champion and three times Soviet cup winner with Dynamo . In the 1985/86 season he and his team also won the European Cup Winners' Cup .

For the Soviet national team Yaremchuk played a total of 19 times between 1986 and 1990 and scored two goals. He took part in the World Championships in Mexico in 1986 and in Italy in 1990 .

At the beginning of 1991 Yaremchuk moved to Germany in the 2nd division to Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin , but he was just as unable to assert himself at Blau-Weiß as at Hertha BSC , where he was under contract in the 1992/93 season. Yaremchuk also played for a short time at FC Hellas in the then Association League Berlin .

After moving to Kamas Naberezhnye Tschelny in Russia in 1993 , Yaremchuk played in Israel from 1994 to 1995 for the Hapoel Rishon LeZion club . From 1995 he played for various clubs in the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan ( Munaischy Aqtau ), Russia and the Ukraine. He ended his active career in 1998.

Yaremchuk said in several interviews that he gambled away a large part of his fortune in casinos. In 2010, he was sentenced to a suspended sentence by a court in Kiev for sexual acts with a minor.
