Ivan Milew
Iwan Milew , actually Iwan Milew Lalew , Bulgarian Иван Милев , (born February 19, 1897 in Kazanlak , † January 29, 1927 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian painter.
Life
Milew studied from 1922 to 1925 at the Art Academy in Sofia . He was one of the founders of a national-Bulgarian decorative style. His pictures show motifs from poor rural life and from Bulgarian songs and legends. In addition, he addressed the political debate of his time.
