Józef Kremer
Józef Kremer (born February 22, 1806 in Cracow ; † June 2, 1875 there ) was a Polish philosopher , aesthetician , art historian and pioneer of psychology .
Life
Józef Kremer studied at the universities of Cracow , Berlin , Heidelberg and Paris . From 1850 he was professor of philosophy at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, from 1853 he gave lectures on aesthetics and art history at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow . From 1870 to 1871 he was rector of the Jagiellonian University . Josef Kremer was a creator of the pioneering concepts for many areas of the humanities. Even before Freud, he introduced a systematic division of psychological phenomena into conscious and unconscious. In Polish art history he was the first to use the correct names for the art styles and wrote the first handbook for aesthetics .
He was the grandfather of the writer Lucjan Rydel .
