József Romhányi
József Romhányi (born March 8, 1921 in Budapest , † May 7, 1983 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian writer, screenwriter and librettist.
Romhányi attended the Budapest Music School. In 1951 he became a dramaturge at the Hungarian Radio. From 1960 to 1962 he worked as artistic director of the entertainment department of Hungarian television, then until his death as dramaturge in the music department of Hungarian radio.
Romhány wrote scripts for cartoons such as Vuk ( Vuk - the little fox , with Attila Dargay and József Nepp ) and series such as A Mézga család különös kalandjai ( Adolars fantastic adventures or Archibald, the space trotter ), Vakáemción a Mézdga " and Kéráemción a Mézga- csalány a következöt! . he also translated the librettos of Christoph Willibald Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice , Gioachino Rossini's Le Comte Ory and Carl Orff's Die Kluge , the texts wrote Rezső Sugars oratorios Hunyadi and Höse ének and librettos to the operas Báthory Zsigmond of Zoltán Horusitzky , Muzsikus Péter by György Ránki and Légy jó mindhalálig by Ferenc Szabó , as well as a poet and author of children's books.
