Jörg Kaessmann (born August 28, 1968 in Gießen ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Kaessmann moved from Eintracht Haiger to Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach . At Borussia he was substitute goalkeeper behind Uwe Kamps . He achieved the greatest success of his career in the 1994/95 DFB Cup , which he won with Borussia - albeit without a commitment. In the following season 1995/96 he made his debut between the posts in the Bundesliga: On matchday three against Bayer 04 Leverkusen he kept his box clean, the game ended 0-0. After the 1996/97 season , in which Kaessmann was not used, he moved to Roda JC Kerkrade in the Netherlands . He played 14 games for Kerkrade before returning to Germany after a season. He still played for VfB Giessen and SC Waldgirmes , where he ended his active career in 2009.
