Jörg Kastner (* 1962 in Minden ) is a German writer .

Life and work

After graduating from the Besselgymnasium in Minden and completing military service, Kastner studied law at Bielefeld University from 1984 . During his studies he started writing magazine articles and short stories. Also for magazine novels like Jerry Cotton , Trucker King and the self-designed series ! Amerika! he contributed numerous volumes. In 1991 his first book was published: Das große Raumschiff Orion Fanbuch. In 1993 Kastner passed the second state examination as a fully qualified lawyer , but decided against a legal career. Instead, he pursued a professional career as a freelance writer with fantastic short stories and historical novels . In the mid-1990s, Kastner made his breakthrough to a broad reading public with the German saga about Arminius (Hermann der Cherusker).

Kastner's greatest book success so far is the Vatican thriller about the angelic pope .

Jörg Kastner lives as a freelance writer with his wife Corinna in Hanover .
